Hertel Jacob HEJ34 Pastel Floral Bouquets Mini Tea Cups Saucers Bavaria Germany (set of 6) CONDITION: Used, good (see photos) No chips or cracks (see photos) Looks as though they were kept in a china hutch and not used, but we cannot guarantee that (see photos) DETAILS SIZE: Mini tea cups - 2 inches high by 3 inches wide Saucers - 5" FEATURES: These delicate mini tea cups / demitasse and saucers are a discontinued design by Hertel Jacob. This set of 6 mini porcelain tea cups and saucers features pastel pink and purple floral bouquets, a scalloped gold rim and footed cups. What makes this set unique is the size of the cups. The mini tea cups are only 2 inches high by 3 inches wide. Saucers are 5" wide. Mark on the bottom reads: Hertel Jacob Bavaria Germany Based on the mark, likely from the 1960s-1970s. A lovely addition to any collection or as replacement pieces for your existing set. The Hertel Jacob factory was established in 1906 by business partners Jacob and Schödl. After a few years Schödl reduced his interest in the factory and Jacob had to look for a new partner. He found Hertel who got involved in management. Consequently renamed to Porzellanfabrik Hertel, Jacob & Co. G.m.b.H. and restructured in 1913, the factory became famous. Their workmanship was said to be comparable to Rosenthal of Bavaria, one of the leading manufacturers of fine china and top quality dinnerware & giftware, both porcelain and crystal.
