Absolutely Beautiful Watercolor painting by J. Royal Telford - an exquisitely detailed depiction of Seagulls in flight off the Texas coast. Painting Size 16" x 22" Frame Size 23" x 29" Following is the obituary of the artist, as posted on ancestry.com by Michael Davis J Royal Telford passed away a few years ago. Best I know he had a residence in Boerne TX. Also a place at the coast where he painted mostly watercolors of costal objects, shells etc. And in the TX hill country painted country scenes. In 1996 a Boerne framing shop stated his art at the time was increasing at 10% a year. At this time this is about all I know, I was searching for an outlet to sell one of his paintings in Boerne when I came upon this site. I knew Jim very well during the seventies we were always at the same art shows. I visited Corpus Christi and Port Aransas to visit him and go fishing there and he visited S.A. many times. Jim was a native of Corpus Christi as is Carol Burnett. Jim told me he knew her and that she had some of his watercolors, I didn't believe him until he gave me a snap shot of Carol and one of his pieces beside her on a couch, I still have the photo. This was about 1975-6 so there was no photo shop or anything then. Jim was a wonder person and a good friend. Jim left C.C. and doing the seascapes and it's animals and moved to capture animals and wildlife in the hill country. He changed locations and his name on his artwork from J. Royal Telford to James R. Telford. He told me that the name change kept him from going back to what he did in C.C.
