For your consideration, I am offering this exquisite, early 1900's Tea Service Set for four in the Rosari-Deco in white gloss porcelain with blue underglaze painted with gold tendrils manufactured by Philipp Rosenthal & Co....Made in Germany and designed by Julius-Vilhelm Guldbransen... White porcelain with the blue floral pattern surrounded in gilt gold with gold trim and edging in a high glaze finish..The underside of the large oval serving tray is free of glaze.. 90% of this set is in absolute flawless condition in every way. Looks new and clean ..The gold trim is completely intact, with no fading or rub marks...This set is marked in green underglaze the WWI mark, under the glaze Rosenthal, Kunst Abteilung along with some containing the shield dated 1914 to 1918, some also stating the Rosari name and floral design in blue - This mark was used in 1918 .. This exquisite Tea Set with Serving Tray consist of: One Tea Pot - holds approximately 2.5 cups or 20 ounces One double handle Covered Sugar Bowl - 8 ounces One Creamer - holds approximate 6 ounces Four Tea Cups - 3 5/8 inches top rim diameter by 1 7/8 inches height - holds 5 ounces Four Saucers - 5 5/8 inches rim diameter One large double handled Oval Serving Tray - 19 inches handle to handle by 13 3/8 inches with 1 inch to 1.5 inch height (at handles) Light signs of previous use should be expected consistent with age and previous ownership....this antique set is in mint condition-free of chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing or utensil markings, stains - Looks New!!..Slight to none on the goldwear..One area on the tray has a 1/2 inch scrape on the gold near one of the handles... Brief History of Julius-Vilhelm Guldbransen J ulius-Vilhelm Guldbrandsen - Denmark - 1869-1960..Was a well reputed Danish painter and porcelain painter - visited after an apprenticeship from the Copenhagen Art School he then studied in Dresdenm Nuremberg and Vienna... Joined Rosenthal in 1909, i n 1910 became head of the newly founded Rosenthal Art Department in Selb, worked for Rosenthal from 1909 to 1924.. Through the introduction of new coloring techniques in the underglaze painting and the "Rosari" motifs, he decisively created the image of Rosenthal products.. .. In 1924 he switched to Hutschenreuther also in the position of head of the Art D epartment..
