ROYAL DOULTON Porcelain Fish Cabinet Plate BRAIZE Hand Painted by S. WILSON Beautiful early Royal Doulton porcelain, decorated in studio by one of the greatest painters to ever be employed by Doulton, Samuel Wilson, who worked for Doulton from 1880-1909. This plate is made of the very finest grade porcelain being made at the time and has been encircled with an embossed gilt encrusted rim. Washed in a cream glaze onto which has been a beautifully hand painted scene of underwater life with the hard-fo-find BRAIZE fish as the central motif. The fish look as though they could jump off the plate and splash you with water with the flip of their tails. These look so very real and lifelike. The skills of a true master painter are seen on this stunning painting of water life and is truly a work of art on porcelain. Measures 8 3/4" diameter.
